FVPOA Relay for Life
On Saturday, May 14, 2016, the FVPOA participated in the Relay for Life event at Fountain Valley High School. The annual overnight event supports the American Cancer Society to raise money, support, and awareness for those affected by Cancer. FVPOA member Officer Mike Fitzpatrick was honored by his partners as they walked a lap to support his recovery. Officer Fitzpatrick is being treated for Cancer. His work-community, friends, and family aggressively support his recovery and return. During the event, the Track and Field at Fountain Valley High School was illuminated with candles and white paper messages of support not just for Officer Fitzpatrick but many other community members as well. The bleachers illuminated the word, “HOPE” during the evening hours as community members walked around the track reflecting and showing support for loved ones. Many FVPD Officers, including the Chief, walked a lap in uniform during their shift to support the community event as well as one of their own.
